Happy New Day!!!????

Svagatham to all...Happy New Year or should i say Happy New Day??

Well this is my 1st ever blog...still need a lot of knowledge to actually upgrade my standard of bloging....well since it is new year, let me tell u what i did hours just before i actually sitting down and start creating this blog.......
Well its 31st Dec 2006 still......erm...i was in Nalanda Buddhist Centre...well my sibblings are Dharma student over in that place and it was the school's honours day...well basiclally this is my second year doin this(goin to Nalanda during new year eve for Nalanda school's honours day)
Well this is not the main subject i am goin to talk about...............
My family kind of have a tradition of goin to temple for blessings every New Year instead of goin to KTV or goin to BB Walk or KLCC or Genting for the usual count downs...well same it goes this year..but this is the second year i am seeking refuge in Nalanda Buddhist Centre...

Here is the intresting part..let me take a verse from what i have herd trought the night's sharing...Happy New Day...the speaker Bro.Wangsa(i guess thats how you spell it) at first asked
"Why are people happy on new year?"
"WHY?"
>>Is it because....
a.)They just follow their friends or crowds??
b.)They don't know what is happiness(so they just act happy)??
c.)They are not happy actually??
OR
d.)They rejoicing that they have pass trough a year and they had survive??
I do think this is a question worth asking yourself....at that point when he continues talking i was contemplating on what he said...why,why ,why and why again...then i think the answer is may be the combination of all the answer a , b and c......but defenately most people wouldnt have d as an answer..

Bro.Wangsa then proceeds...his next few words who catches my attention was...
"Why whish people Happy New Year?"
"Why not we wish everyone Happy New Day every day?"
I think this is really a true and meaningfull statement...why happy only on new years??what about other days??what about monday?tuesday? wednesday,.....??
I think people today have not appreciate life as much as people in the olden days..well i did not say that i apreciate it like really really serious manner but what i am trying to say is people today took for granted(i think this is how you spell this word..my english is not that good specially when it is spelling)the value or surviving each day..they keep looking forward..
"I want to be the richest guy in the FUTURE!!!"
"TOMMOROW i will do this and this and that..."
"NEXT YEAR will be a better year for me"
every one is talking about time ahead...this is good but to a certain extend..people tend to forget or loose their concentration, mindfullness, alertness about the present...people coudlnt care much about the present..what they want is more and more in the future....when people are doin things in the present for instanse sweeping the floor..their physical body is there doing the sweeping but the mind isnt there..he is not sweeping with mindfullness..thats how accidents happens...

ASK YOUR SELF!!!!
Without today, what is tommorow??
Send me your answers...place some comments....
